Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
Isle Blocks is a game for iPhone. You do not need an account, and we never ask for your name, e-mail address or phone number. This page explains which data is used, by whom, and what you can choose yourself.
Who is responsible
Isle Blocks is made by Ryan Frissen (the Netherlands), who is the controller for the data processed in the app. Send questions or requests about your data to support@isleblocks.com.
What stays on your device
Your progress (island, coins, gems, scores, streak) and your settings are stored on your iPhone. Notifications are scheduled on your device itself; no server sends them. We do not run a server of our own and do not receive this data.
Apple services
- iCloud: if iCloud is on, your progress is kept in your own iCloud account so your island moves with you to a new iPhone. We cannot access it.
- Game Center: if you are signed in, your scores go to the Game Center leaderboards, under Apple's terms and privacy policy.
- Purchases go through the App Store. We never see payment details, only that a purchase succeeded.
- Age range: where iOS offers it, the app only asks whether you are under 18. If so, you get no tracking prompt and only non-personalised ads.
Advertising
The app shows ads through Google AdMob. Google uses it to fetch ads, including from other advertisers that bid through Google. Google is an independent controller of this data: for users in the EEA and Switzerland Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), in the UK Google LLC. According to Google, the ad software in the app may collect:
- your IP address, which is used to estimate your general location (like your country);
- a device ID: your advertising identifier (IDFA, only if you allow it, see below) or an ID that only applies within apps from the same developer;
- advertising data, such as which ads you have seen, and how you interact with the app and with ads (such as taps and video views);
- performance data (such as launch time and energy use) and crash reports from the ad software.
Google uses this data to show and improve ads, for analytics, and to diagnose problems in the ad software. Google may also share performance data with other parties that show ads. How Google does this is explained in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in Google's privacy policy.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent first (through Google's consent form). Without it you get non-personalised ads.
- Your advertising identifier (IDFA) is only used if you allow it in Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can turn this off at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- The "No Ads" purchase removes the ads that appear by themselves. Ads that give a reward are only shown when you choose to watch them.
Legal basis: your consent for personalised ads; our legitimate interest (offering the app for free) for non-personalised ads.
Statistics and crashes
We use Firebase by Google (Google Ireland Ltd.) to improve the app:
- Firebase Analytics (only with your consent): which parts of the game are used, for example how many rounds are played and whether people finish their first area. Linked to a random app ID, not to your name or advertising identifier.
- Firebase Crashlytics: when the app crashes, a report with the device model, iOS version and the place in the code. No personal data. Legal basis: legitimate interest (a working app).
- Firebase Remote Config and A/B Testing: adjusting game settings (such as the pace of the island) without an update. Difficulty never depends on your country, device, purchases or ads.
Retention
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Data on your device and in your iCloud | Until you delete the app or your iCloud data |
| Firebase Analytics | Up to 14 months |
| Crash reports | 90 days |
| Advertising data | Under Google's retention policy |
Outside Europe
Google may process data in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You may ask which data about you exists, have it corrected or deleted, object, and withdraw your consent. You change your consent for ads and statistics in the app under Settings; tracking is turned off in the iOS settings. Because there are no accounts, we often cannot link your data at Google to you; send us a message and we will help. For advertising data you can also go to Google directly (see Google's privacy policy). If you disagree with us, you can complain to your data protection authority (in the Netherlands the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Children
Isle Blocks is suitable for all ages but is not a Kids category app. If your device indicates that you are under 18, you only get non-personalised ads and no tracking prompt.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. For major changes we let you know in the app.
